SA Government Trade Waste Initiative

The Trade Waste Initiative helps businesses make improvements to the way trade waste (commercial and industrial wastewater) is managed, focusing on quality improvements and volume reduction. Through the Initiative, South Australian businesses may reduce operating costs and increase productivity by reducing trade waste impacts and becoming more resource efficient.

The Initiative has two components:

Resource Productivity Assessments - Round three open, closing 5pm, Friday 17 November 2017

Successful applicants are awarded up to $10,000 (plus GST) to cover 50% of the cost of a resource productivity assessment delivered by a consultant on the Preferred Supplier List. In many cases, an assessment is required prior to applying for a Food & Beverage Implementation Grant.

Food & Beverage Implementation Grants - Round two open, closing 5pm, Friday 30 March 2018

Food and beverage manufacturers that are SA Water customers meeting trade waste volume and load thresholds are eligible to apply for up to $300,000 (plus GST) in matched (1:1) grant funding to assist with trade waste improvements. Eligible trade waste improvement activities must be identified through a resource productivity assessment or on-site technology trials, with funds available for equipment and associated design and installation costs that are expected to lead to trade waste improvements (improved quality and/or reduced volume).
